Using a similar design as the Audioengine 5, the A2 power amplifiers are built inside the left speaker, providing a very efficient system. An auto-sleep standby feature is also included to conserve power when you're not playing music.
Easy Connections
We've included 1/8 mini jack and RCA inputs so connecting A2 is easy. No software installs, plug-ins, or sound card upgrades. Just connect the audio output (or headphone jack) from your computer, iPod, Airport Express, Sonos system, PSP - or any other audio device, dock or docking station into the A2 rear panel input. All cables that you may need are included. (Docking cables, dock or docking station are not included.)

Audioengine W1 (AW1) Premium Wireless Audio Adapter - Play all your music wirelessly from any audio device or computer to your Audioengine powered speakers, stereo receiver, or powered subwoofer. AW1 provides CD-quality HD stereo sound with no reduction in audio quality.
The Audioengine W1 is designed to connect your audio components wirelessly. Think of AW1 as a simple replacement for any RCA or 3.5" mini-jack cable to or from your iPod, Audio engine powered speakers, computer, TV, surround-sound receiver, game console, network music player - or any other product where you want to eliminate audio cables.
The AW1 consists of 2 parts, the "Sender" and "Receiver". The Sender transmits audio from your computer through USB audio or from any product with 3.5mm mini-jack or RCA audio outputs. The other side of AW1, the Receiver, connects audio to any product with mini-jack or RCA audio connectors.
Power for the Sender and Receiver is provided from either a USB computer port, from the included USB AC power adapter, or from any other USB AC charger (such as an iPod charger, for example). Another USB power source is the Audioengine A5 powered speakers, which are equipped with a ComboPort(r) USB charger on top of the left speaker.

Bamboo is an excellent alternative to hardwoods and the dark bamboo used for the Audioengine AP4N cabinets is not a stain, but achieved through a specialized heating process. As the wood is pressure heated, the sugar compounds inside the bamboo are "carbonized" which in turn darkens the bamboo to a rich caramel color. Awesome sound, great looks, eco-friendly, and panda-safe.
